~ GREAT TENNIS PROGRAMS = HEALTHY LIVING ~
JUNIOR TENNIS
CPRC is committed to the growth of youth tennis by joining Net Generation. Net Generation, official youth tennis of the USTA, is a celebration of a game where no one sits on the sideline. Tennis is easy to learn and tailored for all ages and abilities, helping kids build friendships and learn skills they’ll use for life. Through innovative program and new formats of play we can build the next Generation of Greats. Youths who play tennis are healthy and more likely to engage in healthy behaviors. 48% get better grades, 78% are better behaved, 81 % say they will attend college and 82% are more community minded.
ADULT TENNIS
Adult league tennis is one of the most popular adult recreation sports in Colorado. CPRC hosts two tournaments each year. The Chester Harris Memorial Tournament, NTRP and Championship Division and the senior/age, family doubles Division. There are nearly 74 other tournament for player ranging from entry level to championship to choose from.
COMMUNITY OUTREACH
Community Outreach is the backbone of our organization. The City Park Racquet Club purchases, prepares and serves meals to the homeless four or more times a year. The CPRC contributes $500 a year towards the meals. The meals serve as a great opportunity for the tennis players to reach out, connect and contribute to this vulnerable community. We also collect donations from the City Park tennis community to purchase toiletries, socks, gloves, knit caps and other items to distribute at the meals. Clothing, backpacks, sleeping bags that are distributed to the needy.

CPRC-NJTL is seeking volunteers to assist with various tennis activities and events:
- To help lead and assist with tennis drills at events.
- To assist with event planning and set up, to staff booths, and provide registration coverage at community events.
- To assist with program development and execution.
- To assist with the promotion of positive life skills for youth and healthy eating habits.

Through tennis, academic enrichment, character development and healthy living, CPRC-NJTL’s goal is to provide the necessary support to promote holistic growth to prepare youth for future success on the tennis court and in life.
In 1969, Arthur Ashe and co-founders Charlie Pasarell and Sheridan Snyder established the National Junior Tennis League (NJTL). Pasarell devoted his life to building the game of tennis and Snyder, a biotech entrepreneur, had a passion for tennis and helping young people as well. Ashe described their collaboration this way, “Our idea is to use tennis as a way to gain and hold the attention of young people so that we can teach them about matters more important than tennis … Through tennis, life can be changed, and spirts reclaimed.”
Donations for CPRC-NJTL are accepted and welcomed at CPRC-NJTL, 1726 Downing Street, Denver, CO 80226. Thank you for your support!
